Pharmaceuticals

Many wastewater treatment plants are not designed to remove pharmaceutical waste from the wastewater. Wastewater from treatments plants is discharged back into rivers and streams.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has conducted intensive studies on the adverse effects that medications in wastewater is having on aquatic water life therefore it is important to reduce the amount of medications that are being flushed down the drain.
